2010 Loudon County Political Forum
In partnership with the News-Herald/Village Connection, the Loudon County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that we will be offering the public an opportunity to meet and greet the candidates from 5:00-6:30pm in the LCHS Cafeteria. We will then meet in the auditorium as each candidate is introduced, and the County Mayor candidates answer questions submitted by the public. As part of the evening events, we will be asking the Mayoral candidates to respond to questions solicited from our membership and the general public. Forget Me Not 5K
This year, Lenoir City Parks and Recreation sponsor the First Annual Forget Me Not 5K, an event to raise funds for Alzheimer's Disease research. This event was conceived and organized by McKenzie Wampler of Lenoir City. Funds raised through this event will go to research and help to find a cure for the devastating disease of Alzheimer's. Registration for the race begins at 7:00 a.m. 4/17/10, and includes race T-shirt while supplies last. Cost is $30; $25 in advance (post-marked by April 10); $15 K-12 students

2010 Loudon County Relay for Life
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.

Boating Safety Day at Lenoir City Park
TWRA will be participating in this first ever family-oriented boating safety event in Lenoir City. TWRA will have its personal watercraft simulator for attendees to enjoy and the "Wear It!" Tennessee boat will be there as well. Rockin' the Docks will be coming to the Lenoir City park/Cove on July 3rd starting at 4:00pm. This year we are putting all of our efforts into making this one 2010 Rockin' the Docks one the whole family will remember. Our stage will feature four bands performing live all afternoon and evening. There are special aerial performances planned to honor our veterans and all those currently serving in our military. Breast Cancer Awareness Concert
Oona Love, who has made her base in Loudon, TN for the past three years, returns with her band the Barefeet for a very special Breast Cancer Awareness Concert at the Lyric Theatre. Opening the show, Loudon and Nashville favorite, John Gilmore. Twenty percent of all proceeds from ticket sales, ten percent of artists merchandise, and 100 percent of all proceeds from the silent auction and donations will go directly to Loudon local, Jenny Rogers who is dealing with the effects of Breast Cancer.
